An Ode to the Ostrich Feather

Hellllooo,

This post is a compilation of a couple of designers I love and is entirely inspired by my very serious consideration of spending $285 on ostrich feather sandals that I vowed to cherish and wear forever. I have not purchased them but put them here to look at and admire. They are the blush pink slides by Brothers Vellies pictured in Eva Chen's Instagram post below. Eva Chen has seriously good taste in shoes. Starting with Brother Vellies, I rounded up some of my favorite designers (that incidentally complement the accessories of B.V so well): Spell & the Gypsy Collective, Stone Cold Fox, and For Love & Lemons--basically my dream closet. Check them all out!!! Let me know if you have any favorites. The Island Bag in Pink Goat Shearling has also stolen my heart. Can a bag be cooler than a person?

!!!! Incredible !!!!

I know this post isn't entirely vegan so I emailed BV about their practices for obtaining animal products and they told me, "Both our shearling and ostrich feathers are sourced from bi-product tanneries and suppliers vetted by our agents." I do support and prefer vegan alternatives but am glad to know this company is approaching animal bi-products with care and thought. All of the Spell & The Gypsy Collective items are faux fur.

Bye, everyone :)
